Britain's Waste: the lessons we can learn from Europe, Caroline Jackson, MEP
Caroline Jackson is Conservative MEP for the South West of England. She was Chairman of the European Parliament Environment Committee from 1999 to 2004, rapporteur on the Landfill Directive and now rapporteur on the draft Waste Framework Directive. This report explains how the UK has implemented the Landfill Directive and its failure to learn from the experience of continental countries, particularly in explaining to the public that energy recovery from waste has a role to play in modern integrated waste management systems.
